Platts to Add Group 3 84 Octane Gas Assessments


On July 23, 2013, Platts announced it will launch a U.S. Midwest Group 3 84 sub-octane (V grade) gasoline assessment that will reflect the Magellan Pipeline specifications at the Tulsa, OK, injection site on an FOB basis, effective September 3. At the same time, Platts is still seeking feedback on the discontinuing of its Group 3 conventional 87 octane gasoline (N grade) assessment, effective December 31.

Delisting of products and data sources Platts to Discontinue Weekly US Chemical Grade Propylene Spot Assessments

Effective October 30, 2015, Platts intends to discontinue its weekly US Chemical Grade Propylene spot assessment due to a lack of liquidity in the market. Platts intends to end publication of the assessments from October 30, 2015. As of late April 2015, Platts will launch a new daily metallurgical coke assessment for higher-quality material with 66/65% coke strength after reaction (CSR), on a FOB China basis. Delisting of products and data sources Platts to Discontinue US DOP Assessment

Effective July 29, 2015, Platts will discontinue its weekly US dioctyl phthalate assessment due to a change in market dynamics. Liquidity in the US market for DOP has dropped significantly as substitute plasticizers have become more commonplace. These assessments are listed under the following codes in the Platts price database: DOP FD US Domestic Weekly, PHARA00; Monthly Average, PHARB03.
